Working Together

I love it when people can come together to create something beautiful. This week that magic happened!
Gosia Meyer of Jewelry by Gosia and I teamed up to create some lifestyle product images for her website. The problem with trying to do this in the middle of winter in Vermont is that we don’t have our typical, serene, beautiful, mountainous, New England landscape. Of course we could have trekked outside and tortured our model (the very beautiful, Miss Southern Vermont, Jackie Croft) but I’m pretty sure the outcome would have been less than desirable.

While we were planning the details of the shoot, we had the bright idea of contacting Nate, the innkeeper over at Snapdragon Inn. Wow, am I glad that we did! The owners of the Snapdragon have transformed this historic building into pure beauty. It has just the right touch of modern while preserving the character of its past. Each room has a fireplace and the common areas have a warm and inviting, come sit here feel. They were gracious enough to let us have run of the place for as long as we needed. We were extremely lucky to have chosen our shoot day on a day that a rather large party was checking out. We only had to dodge the very nice cleaning ladies.

We started on the 3rd floor.

And took full advantage of all the interesting furniture.

Holy cow were those beds fluffy and comfortable. We burst into laughter when Jackie (our model) sunk into this bed.

The black and white room was one of my favorites.

Another favorite room. The shade of the walls is so tranquil.

The original woodwork is amazing. The craftsmanship that went into these old houses is astonishing.

I really loved the common areas. This piano was begging to be played!

And I could happily sit and have a cup of coffee in this library every morning!!! The light that came through those antique windows was fantastic!!!!

Again, I can’t express enough, my gratitude to Nate and the rest of the staff at the Snapdragon Inn. Please check out their blog and become a fan. They were even nice enough to chat us up about it here. I look forward to the day I can go back for another session, shoot a wedding on their beautiful grounds or even treat myself to a spa day. (Which will be ready for service in a few short weeks!) If you or someone you know is planing on coming to see the mountains of Vermont, please see them. They will treat you like family and point you in the direction of all the must see sights.

Please also visit Gosia and become a fan. She is a talented jewelry artist whose creativity and abilities exceeds the time in a day. I can’t wait to see her new designs which should be posted to her website shortly. I’m eager to work with her again and will certainly refer to her when any brides are looking for something special.

  1. I’m impressed, I must say. Rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and engaging,
and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The issue is something not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about. Now i’m very happy that I
stumbled across this in my hunt for something relating to this.
